Subject: SCOTS: tell me your secrets please From: GUEST,Mikey joe Date: 16 Sep 02 - 08:33 AM I'm heading away for a few days holidays soon. I'm not sure where yet. Somewhere around north perthshire, and the highlands or maybe I'll go west Flen Etive that direction. Anyway, what I want to know is this. Who can recommend really good pubs and restauraunts around these areas. If there is folk music there well and good. I'm sick of Beefeaters, All Bar Ones and the like. I'm determined to not spend a single penny in a chain type bar/restaurant while I'm away. Cheers folks |

Fine pub with a fair amount of trad music, good food and nice enough beds. I would go back if in the area. TODD Ihope others send info as ( am always looking for places like this) |
Subject: RE: SCOTS: tell me your secrets please From: GUEST,Scabby Doug Date: 16 Sep 02 - 10:52 AM Well, there's Dougie MacLean's place - the Taybank Hotel - in Dunkeld. Weekend nights are probably best for music. Cheers Steven |

Subject: RE: SCOTS: tell me your secrets please From: GUEST,Mikey joe Date: 16 Sep 02 - 11:13 AM I often go up to Dougies, great spot, but I don't like Dougie and I'm looking for somewhere different to where I normally go. The Moulin Inn in Moulin BTW is a great spot. I want to find a small cosy inn with good food and beer somewhere. Cheers for suggestion though. Its all grist to my mill Mj |
