Absolutely - a jolly good time was had by all (even the naked baassoonists). The world famous jOhn from Hull was there too! And lots of bear9 was drunk to the delight of the landlord!

And Bill Sables made a very welcome appearance. Grand night all round, even got a snog off the divine Nik Nak. 9Ohn showed me his receipt, favouring Kingston Communications for a prince's ransom, so we should see him about here again soon.

Do you mean that you were packed to the gunwhales, ET? Or the pub?

Written upon the ticket on the fiddle is a love poem written by me to honour a certain Ms Penelope Rutledge. It starts

Oh how my love light's candle flickers

I am sporting it during what I have termed my yearning years. If you see me without it, you will know that I have finally split Ms Penelope Rutledge's whiskers.

Skipjack now that Punch the Horse are world famous do'nt you think it's time to form a tribute band on the south bank of the Humber we could call ourselves "Judy The Other Horse" what do you think? BTW do you know another with a grand piano and a Wheelie-bin in his back passage? if so we've cracked it

Mr O, I fear your nautical terminology is weak. Gun whales is policitically and nautically incorrect. Its like Coxs Wain and Cox'on. Or is it Cocks 'un. Am I getting in deep here?

Very dEPP9, Eric, you saucy fellow. I am from the West Midlands, so never bring into question my maritime heritage. I was brought up, hanging around Warwick Docks until the small hours. Unlike Analby - about as far as its possible to get from the sea according to my map. Get back to work, or I'll tell the Welshman. Incidentally, I was speaking to Ossonflags in bed on Monday night, but that's another story.....

Banjo-Flower, forgive me but your post hit a mighty 9 on the exponential drivel continuum. You know what happens when you cross the line; Doug becomes inflamed, climbs down, wanders over to his computer and lambasts you. And then has to buy you drinks in the Nag's head. On reflection, a grand post.

Hmmm, a tribute band. I fear that you may have just lit Ossenflags's blue touchpaper. He will post in duplicate very soon. Looks like you shortly get it both ways.

oakleaf BRILLIANT fancy you thinking of Doug do you think he looks and sounds a bit like Ossonflags if so perhaps he'd change his cat name to Ossanfart and become the hooootteeessst singer in "JUDY THE OTHER HORSE"

Ossonflags and I both have grey beards and are the same cuddly shape – but I am far more handsome. How could I possibly sound like anyone who comes from 'Ull?

Don't be getting worried Oakleaf about the line-up of Judy The Other Horse we only want to be a tribute band not competition now if only Skipjack/Greg/Gavin/Gladyswould get in touch we could really get things moving BTW did I tell you who's going to play guitar for us?

Helooo Oaklet, i did see you and Mrs Mick last night, but i could not stay and chat as I had to deliver sume food to Brough, when i got there the customer was a right whinging old git, he was complaining about the delivery charge 9I charge 3 quid to Brough, a round trip of 30 miles!) I was stood at the doorstep for around 10 minutes arguing about the price, he was too thick to realise that the longer he spent arguing, the colder his food was getting! the silly old fool, I almost said to him " do you want to eat this food or f**king wear it? I did say to him " Don't bloody ring up and say your curry is cold" people like that really piss me off, there is no wonder I come home and drink loads of bear, if I become an alcoholic I will sue him! I looking forward to when i start my own shop and tell my boss to stick his shitty job up his arse.john

PS. Glad ypou enjoyed youtr curry, Mrs harpmaker went to the curry shop a couple of hours before you as well, she bought some curry too celebrete harpmakers birthday, 9see new thread 2happy birthday harpmaker", the shop is fast becoming a regular haunt of mudcatters, the currys are pobably the best in hull, they was voted the best curry ship in hull by the local newspaper 9Ull daily male) but the pizzas are a bit crap, 9they dont cook em long enough & make em crispy, allegidly.I hope the boss not reeding this, 9he will get pissed off if i say his pixxas are no good) but best to be honest anyway.john

Couldn't you just predict it? One researches the local ethnic nosh market, only to find an Arab chap in Hull purveys the best curry for 30 miles around, order a couple of bagfulls, and some Hasidic Red Sea Pedestrain turns up shouting the odds about some spurious delivery charge! Chap was ranting about redecorating the place or something. Frankly, if I wasn't orf to the march in town, I'd've jolly well cut his whiskers orf, and reported the out of date tax disc to the filth.

How did Gilbert O'Sullivan put it? 'Up shoots the price of shoddy!' Country's gorn to the dogs, what?

Can Winston W-J play his instrument with a bloody nose and his spats reeking of stale home-made plum jam? Anyway Banjo-Flower, I thought you'd be at Wooton, celebrating Doug's graduation from the drivel academy. By the way, have you seen what the Americans are saying about the Punch the Horse Threads? Disturbing stuff.
