From one harpmaker to another, many happy returns harpmaker. By the way, what is the best filler to use? I've been to Ray's Auto World, but I find that most don't take the creosote as well as the surrounding mdf and some of my harps look a bit blotchy. Also, where do you get all those little metal gismos that make the harp change key? I currently make harps in G, A, C and D, but charging £400 for a set of four, puts some people off. Particularly those who want to join in in sessions. Hope you can help.

Happy Birthday Harpmaker!

Oaklet I thought you'd started making a full cromatic set of 20 harps what happened to that idea?

Smallpliers I am surprised at you. As a survivor of the naked basssoooonist sessions at the Sloop, I thought that you'd realise that a D harp will be perfectly suitable for songs and tunes in C through to E. Similarly a G set with do for F-A and a C set will do for the rest. I am sure that melodeoeoenists use the same system.

Colin and Karen, the delightful duo that delight us all on a Tuesday play in F# in a futuile attempt to avoid having their wonderful songs "enhanced" by a clamour of mouth organs, melodeoeoeoens, banjos and bassssoooons.

This of course is futile but at least I used the gismos on my fiddle near the beard, to de-tune the thing. This is what I had in my mind for the new Oaklet Harp, thus saving a shit load of exterior-grade mdf.

There is sprout on the window ledge in the gents in the Hase.

Ah but oaksprout I thought that the set you were making was for use in orchestras and such not just for session playing remember there is only one key - the key of pipe! And it dosn't work for melodionists because they get turned into skins for bahoooooderananananans!
