Tonight, in Down Under land, we've just seen the last episode of the Channel 4 (UK) series "The Edwardian Country House". One of the maids sang a verse of a pretty-sounding song that intrigued me - does anyone know what it was???

(Please don't ask me for any of the lines - it was only a few hours ago but I remember none of them!!!)

I was going to watch this - I have only seen a couple of the episodes - but hubby beat me to the remote control, so I can't offer any suggestions. It really would help (wheedle & whine) if you could remember something of the lyrics. (grin)

I watched it too but I couldn't tell you any of the lyrics...however it was a pretty song, a "girl" song.
Helen, Sunday night in our house is the only night The Mother gets hold of the remote control - we have 2 remotes for our TV and 3 blokes who use them (Himself and 2 large sons) - not good odds. The rest of the week the TV programming is so abysmal that I don't watch.

I would ahve thought that the pommy-Cats might be able to shed some light on this request. After all, it was a UK production. Maybe if we keep refreshing the thread they will help out here.

JennieG, I have arranged the second tv so that I can have a nice long bath and watch telly at the same time. Sunday nights are a good time for this, but not last Sunday.

Geez Helen we only have one working TV! and 2 remotes....and 3 blokes.....3 into 2 doesn't always go. Besides I would rather listen to or make music, or sew - I make clothes and patchwork quilts. I grew up in a country town (Tamworth) before TV made its way north from Sydney and Newcastle so I suppose that's why I don't care to watch it much. But I enjoyed the Edwardian Big Brother Show.
Now I have finished my coffee I am going back to the sewing machine, I am making a quilt for friends' very imminent new daughter.
