Billy Bragg rare solo gig

The half-time break of Billy Bragg's 'England, Half English' tour with his fantastic band 'The Blokes' ends on 12th October 2002 with a benefit concert in Bridport, West Dorset. Billy lives near Bridport and has been active in a campaign opposing Safeway supermarket expansion which will have a devastating effect on the local economy and environment.
Also appearing with the Braggster at Bridport Arts Centre is The Herbie Treehead band. If Dr. Seuss, Jim Henson and Steve Martin met on a Marakesh caravan trail then Herbie would be the illegitimate genius off-spring, a stalwart performer from the European festival circuit and soon-to-be star of a new BBC1 science gameshow Xperi-mental.
Ex-Gypsy's Kiss frontman, Martin Taylor( not that one!), lends more folk-tinged harmony to the proceedings, which will be raising funds to resurrect the award-winning magazine 'Return of the Native' who plan to produce a special 'Backing Bridport' issue and campaign materials.
Tickets are only £6, available from Bridport Record Centre. For long-distance reservations contact Leon Sea on or leonsea@hotmail

Billy starts the second half of The Blokes England tour at Poole on November 16th. F.F.I go to
