Letting you know that there will be a party Saturday October 5, 2002 8:00 P.M. at:

The West Roxbury Bar and Restaurant
1885 Central Street W Roxbury MA USA

Featuring:
Johnny Mháirtín Learaí and Joe John Mac Con Iomaire
two renowned sean-nós singers.

There will be the usual mayem to follow. This is a Cumann na Gaeilge i mBoston(Boston area Gaelic League) event.

There is no admission charge. There will be many singers singing in Irish and English as well as opportunity to speak Irish.

From Carna in Western Connemara, Johnny Mháirtín Learaí upholds a long tradition of rich and beautiful singing passed down to him from such talented neighbours as Seán 'ac Dhonncha (Johnny Jó Phaitsín), Seosamh ó héanaí, Josie Sheáin Jeaic, Seán Choilm and Colm Ó Caodháin. Johnny won Corn Uí Riada at Oireachtas na Gaeilge in 1985. The songs on this album include some of the great favourites in Irish and English with which he is identified, such as 'Contae Mhuigheo', 'Sadhbh Ní Bhruinnealla', 'A Stór Mo Chroí';, 'Tá na Páipéir á Saighneáil', 'My Own Dear Native Land' and 'The Bogs of Shanageever'
