From: Mr Happy Date: 18 Oct 02 - 07:51 PM i guess loads of people want to chat but there's still a lot of glitches with it. keeps chucking people out. or you're chatting away when it suddenly says 'you're not logged on' . must be a finite period you can stay on for before you automatically get kiked out. aslo the mc forum itself keeps going on & off. i'm only still here via http://207.103.108.101/threads.cfm is the only route I can find that works. still i'm happy 'cos i suspect this time of day/night is when the 'magicians' are casting runes & spells to make the whole thing go properly! keep up the goodly work chaps! you're all doing very well! cheers, mr h |

From: Rt Revd Sir jOhn from Hull Date: 08 Oct 02 - 08:36 PM Greg, I am using a similar system to you, although the chat room is mainly designed for computers, and works best that way, it does work in a fashion on my system. what you need to do is, type what you want to say in the long box, as you were doing , but then press the enter button on your keyboard, [bottom right), then press the clear button, to see what the other people have said, one problem is, the chat room seems to refresh itself every few seconds, this means it fills my machines memory up, and I can only use it for about 10-15 minutes at a time, as your set top box seems a bit low on memory, (you can only read threads up-to around 40 messages long etc) then you might have to start again after 10 minutes, also I have no scrolling facility, so if I dont press clear often enough, I might miss a message/reply! You should press clear every minute or so, give it a try, if you tell me when, I will be there as well.john |
