Many years ago I lived in the same house as Johnny Silvo, and one of his flatmates at that time was Davey Johnstone, known to all and sundry as Shaggis. In those days he sang and played with Noel Murphy, and I believe it was Murph who gave him the nickname. Anyway, Murph was then married to a lady called Heather with whom I am still in touch. When I spoke to her last week she asked if I knew how she could get back in contact with Davey, and in spite of trying quite a few web searches, I can't come up with any means of getting in touch. He bacame Elton John's lead guitarist, and went to live in the US, and on the basis that he lives over there, I'm hoping that some of you guys over there may come up with some info for Heather.

Old Shaggis was one hell of a fine banjo player - it was a real waste for him to go off and play guitar with Elton John. Didn't he get married to KiKi Dee?

Davey was here in Cornwal on a visit a while back (he lived here for quite a while).
Reminds me I have an LP of his somewhere must dig it out and give it a play. Does anyone know if he made more than one?

As Elton Johns musical director, Davey Johnson does the hiring of the musicians and fairly recently hired a friend of mine as tenor sax player for a short run of concerts. I'll contact him to see if has a number for him.
I believe that he made an album of guitar music with John Jorgessen(not sure of the spelling) of Hellcasters fame, who quite often plays second guitar for Elton John.
I asked my friend to get Eltons autograph for my partner Julie, who is a big fan of his, but was dissapointed to find out that, although in Eltons band, my friend didn't even meet him!
Apparently he never rehearses, leaving all that stuff to Davey, and the first the band saw of Elton was as he walked on stage, waved to the crowd, nodded to the band and away they went!
After the gig Elton makes off in his Limo' until the next concert.
I was under the impression that Davey Johnson lived in the Cayman Isles but I could be wrong.
