I submitted a new thread re Isle of Innisfree...used the Optional Heading of "Song Origins"....I can't figure out where it is. Do some threads gets screened before being added--such as to the Song Origins section? My title was Song Origins: Isle of Innisfree--the true story if that helps.

I haven't been here in AGES! So, I guess I've got to learn the routine again. LOL Looks like there's been a lot of sorting and rearranging--which should make things more easy to navigate! GREAT!!

When did you submit it? I'm not finding anything with Innisfree, Song Origins or by clicking on your name.....looks to me like it didnt' make it here. Tried Filter for 30 days on several things.

I don't think it made it either Sorcha......Things pretty much work the same and there is no "screening" or anything on threads like that one.

I tried to submit a new thread, today, about six times and each time it never showed up. I went away and came back, tried it again and it finally went through. I figured there must have been some burping going on, but I've never had that happen before. Maybe it was what happened to yours, too, Mary. BTW, nice to see you, again!

And this thread was started earlier, but was posted to this month. It doesn't appear to be your thread, but it sure has a lot of 'song origins' info, including posts by the author's son and two daughters!

I think you've got it backwards kendall. Overly sensitive, fearful people who can't tolerate being challenged, criticised, or mocked are the reason for censorship.

Note: for the last couple of weeks packet loss on the internet has been reaching as high as 20%. a GREAT DEAL of e-mail and internet traffic has "gone missing" - which does not imply censorship.

Welcome back, Mary. I used all the tools I have, and I can't find your post. Maybe you had the "preview" box checked, and didn't "submit" after you'd previewed. When you post, you should be sent back to the Forum Menu, and your thread should be at the top of the list. We now do a review of links before they are posted (to avoid duplicates and Spam), but we never review messages before they're posted.

As always, it's generally best to post to an existing thread on a song, rather than split the discussion of a song into myriad parts. If we already have a lyrics request lots of discussion of a song, it's better to post Origins information in that existing thread. We'll change the thread marker to "origins" if it's warranted (and we can do that without changing the thread name).


Oh, and I just can't resist saying something about this:

Hi everyone!

I submitted the new thread a couple minutes before I started this one. I did a "preview" of what I had written, maybe I hit a wrong button or something when I attempted to submit it. I can always resubmit!

things have been really hectic here. Prof (Mick Lowe--remember him?) and I have decided to close Prof's Irish (and English) Music site indefinitely. The nearly 5 year stint was great, but we both have other stuff to deal with that takes precidence.

I've started a Mary Kay biz (skincare/cosmetics biz for those who aren't familiar with it), though am taking my time with it. Been very busy with my son who is now in Kindergarten and whose "social life" seems to take over. LOL

Well, I have to pick Liam up from his cartooning class....will attempt another thread later.

Judging by some of the stuff some people post that doesn't get pulled, I get the impression the stuff that is pulled really must be pretty unpleasant.
