You are overdue on your current batch of never-before-heard crusty insults, and we could use a few new replacements in the Inventory Of Long and Funny Dry New England Rambling Parables and Tall Tales. You probably haven't told any new fibs in a week of Sundays. And how long has it been since you straightened out a whippersnapper??? Goddamn state of Maine is crawling with whippersnappers all needing straightening out, and you sit around feeling sorry for yourself?

Not to mention your responsibilities of First Genius and Spirit of the Maritime Way here on the 'Cat. Haven't seen a sheepshank or a fid out of you since that half-assed quiz you wrote last quarter.

By the way, you sing like a goddamn salty angel. Let's toss this crap and by a coastal schooner and make our money taking pretty women over the horizon for ther weekends!!

Just back from 20 hours in a car with Captain Morse. Survived...but I had Morticia as a buffer. Don't know about a trip over the horizon. Over the rainbow, maybe, if Amos and Kendall are willing. As for his neglecting his duties as a curmudgeon, trust me. Kendall is in rare form. Waitresses tremble in fear as he chooses his table and eyes the sound systems with a baleful glare. One dared to mention "company policy" and nearly paid with her life - well, maybe her drink tray and name pin.

Kendall was chosen by Utah Phillips to sing "Ashes On The Sea" in Phillips' CD collection of his life's work.He states that he considers Kendall's voice the best for performing his music. A paraphrase but I bet our Captain can quote him verbatim.

Sometimes, I shake my head in wonder at teh company I keep. Can't ever thank Max enough.

I thought I posted it before, but, anyway, Utah called me and asked if he could use my rendition of his song, "Ashes on the Sea" on his new release of 60 songs. Of course I said yes. He sent me a sample and it is well worth having. If you have heard "Lofers Glory", his radio show, you know what a treasure he is.
He also invited me to come to California to visit, and as soon as my voice returns, I will go.

Yo Cap'n. How ya gittin along wit yer cords anyhow ? Haven't heard an update in a while.... bin so busy providin a warm home for some of our fine feathered friends up in Kent County that I bin outta touch wit you all cept fer the odd thread or two now an agin. Goin back up tomorrow, but snow is a comin and that means that some of our hairy friends may need a warm place to stay for supper.... maybe even some a them one eyed fellahs !
