I started a search for "I see a little bird that is sitting on a treetop" and with a little help from my mudcat friends I found a part of the lyrics. The title seems to be: "Brazilian love bird" and as performers were mentioned Nina & Frederik, Edmundo Ros and Nat King Cole. But when I search for the title the only result I get is a Sri Lankan(!) calypso-group.

I know it has a chorus in Brazilian/Portuguese, in the middle, and suspect that it might have Brazilian title. I'll keep looking.
