Subject: Chanties in Southern Maine From: GUEST,alfreeman@heavenst.com Date: 20 Oct 02 - 11:47 AM Hello, Those of you living in Southern Maine or Coastal New Hampshire may want to know about the open mic I host at the SoBo Books and coffee in South Berwick Maine and the House Concert I am hosting next week. The open mic occurs the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Friday of each month from 7-8:45pm. This is a smoke and sound system free venue. The SoBo is a used bookstore and coffee shop. We began the open mic last summer and have been getting a wide variety of amateurs, professionals, adults, and children. There are the usual singer/songwriter types, but just as often Native American flute, mandolin, a cappella, sea chanties, skits, or poetry. I am hosting a house concert with Roll & Go at my home in Cape Neddick (AKA York), Maine next Saturday 10/26/02. Roll & Go is a collective of men and women who love to sing sea shanties and other songs of the sea. For additional details on either of these events please email me or visit my website at www.heavenst.com. Thank you Alison Freeman alfreeman@heavenst.com |
