Subject: RE: BS: Photos and Profiles From: Steve in Idaho Date: 01 Nov 02 - 02:48 PM How do I put in a profile? Steve |
Subject: RE: BS: Photos and Profiles From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 01 Nov 02 - 02:51 PM Hi, Lead: You're right. Jeff does all the work as his gift to Mudcat, and we can never be reminded of that, too much. I only figured out how to send photos a month ago when my oldest son stopped by the house and figured out how to do it. I'm glad you've submitted a profile, though. Now that I am in computer kindergarten and can e-mail photos, if you want to go through the nuisance of sending me a photo you can spare, I'd be glad to e-mail it to Jeff. You can PM me, if you're interested... Jerry |
Subject: RE: BS: Photos and Profiles From: Genie Date: 01 Nov 02 - 04:11 PM "...I don't imagine we'll be seeing a picture of that fella GUEST who keeps on cropping up..." Hmmmm. I'm not sure that's always the same "GUEST" or that it's always a "fella." There was one "GUEST" post recently, with the same caustic tone characteristic of "that GUEST," which said something about "my husband" or something like that. |
Subject: RE: BS: Photos and Profiles From: Genie Date: 08 Nov 02 - 11:07 AM Steve and Leadfingers, go to the Profiles and Photos page, and it'll give you an email address for Banjer, who will digitize photos for you and send those files to Jeff (Pene Azul). I see Jeff has added some new photos and profiles, including mine. Thanks ever so much, Jeff. You're a treasure. Genie |
Subject: RE: BS: Photos and Profiles From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 08 Nov 02 - 11:10 AM Thanks for bringing this back up, Genie! I've enjoyed the new postings, but am waiting to see Tweed's smiling face, and Some of the other frequent chatters.. Jerry |
Subject: RE: BS: Photos and Profiles From: Genie Date: 08 Nov 02 - 07:23 PM me too, Jerry |
Subject: RE: BS: Photos and Profiles From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 08 Nov 02 - 07:43 PM GUEST is a sort of collective persona, and people who choose to post as GUEST without any kind of handle are surely abdicating their individuality, and being absorbed into the collective. A bit like the Borg. "Resistance is futile" as they always say, just before exploding in a shower of fireworks. Females can be fellas, I'm sure. I couldn't see anything in the dictionary definition I just checked (using the posh spelling as "fellow") that required you have to be male to merit the term. |
Subject: RE: BS: Photos and Profiles From: Socorro Date: 08 Nov 02 - 07:55 PM Well, i posted my photo & now i'd like to do a profile, but there's no instructions at the top of the page. Can anyone give me a helpful nudge in the right direction? Thanks to all you friendly people! |
Subject: RE: BS: Photos and Profiles From: Genie Date: 08 Nov 02 - 08:45 PM Socorro, I just did a monkey-see-monkey-do thing re my profile, i.e., just looked at a few other Catters' profiles and used them as a model for what kind of info to include and how to arrange it. I made it short, for now, figuring I can add or edit it later if I think of a better blurb. |
Subject: RE: BS: Photos and Profiles From: Leadfingers Date: 08 Nov 02 - 09:10 PM Having got some info from Gareth I Emailed Jeff and lo and behold there I am in the hairy flesh. My old Mum thinks I look better with short hair and beard,But thats not a bad shot of the banjo in the New Tavern at Sidmouth. Thanks,Robin for the photo. And it really didnt hurt a lot.PM Pene Azul with your bio,or e-mail jeff.Honest, its that easy. |
Subject: RE: BS: Photos and Profiles From: Genie Date: 08 Nov 02 - 09:35 PM Hey, Lead, is that a stovepipe hat or an optical illusion? *G* Genie |
Subject: RE: BS: Photos and Profiles From: Uncle_DaveO Date: 08 Nov 02 - 09:42 PM I want to update and/or revise my profile, but can't figure out where to go to do it. Anybody help me? Dave Oesterreich |
Subject: RE: BS: Photos and Profiles From: Genie Date: 09 Nov 02 - 02:35 AM Dave, I imagine you'd just send a PM to Jeff (Pene Azul) telling him how you'd like the updated/revised profile to read. |
Subject: RE: BS: Photos and Profiles From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 09 Nov 02 - 06:48 AM Genie's right, Dave: Just click on the quick links box in the upper right hand corner, click on Photos & Info, when the screen opens, click on the blue clicky in the text and it will open up a box to send an e-mail to Jeff@mudcat. Type in your profile, and he will replace or insert it into the listing. It's easy... if I can do it, anyone can... Keep 'em coming... I keep checking and am always pleased to see new photos. I think that Leadfinger's hat is an optical conclusion.. Jerry |
Subject: RE: BS: Photos and Profiles From: JudeL Date: 09 Nov 02 - 07:39 AM What I want to know is how come Pene Azul doesn't have a profile or a photo ? |
Subject: RE: BS: Photos and Profiles From: Genie Date: 09 Nov 02 - 12:16 PM Jerry, you're probably right. Leadfingers's stovepipe hat is probably much like the 'feathers' that appear to be sticking out of my head in the photo of me at The Cloisters Of La Jolla. (There was a large plant a few feet behind me, but it looks like part of my hairdo!) Jude, there is at least one photo of Jeff in the Gatherings section, in a group. But, yeah, Jeff, how 'bout a profile for you, too? Genie |
Subject: RE: BS: Photos and Profiles From: Noreen Date: 09 Nov 02 - 06:09 PM Thanks for the new batch of photos, folks, and thanks to Jeff for letting us see them ;0) (Socorro, that is such a lovely photograph- makes me smile!) |
Subject: RE: BS: Photos and Profiles From: Genie Date: 10 Nov 02 - 03:53 PM I see we can post pics of our furry four-legged or feathered family members, as well. CatPhiddle's "Merlin The Mognificent" looks soooo much like my dear recently departed Melanie LaMew it's uncanny! Great to see the new profiles and new photos (folks who weren't pictured before, and new pics of folks who were)! Genie |
Subject: RE: BS: Photos and Profiles From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 15 Nov 02 - 11:32 AM Thought that I'd refresh this, periodically.... The photos and profiles are such a treat... even more so, with Mudchat. I'm looking forward to seeing more of you send them to Jeff... a pre-New Year's Eve resolution... Jerry |
