Dear SS...I am amazed at such elven zeal but deeply perplexed at the possible sneakiness of my SS!! Yet how can I complain when said Santa has sussed out so perfectly what I like!

First comes mysterious treasures galore,
Unique baubles of sea and shore!
And now I'm to expect something more?
From a Santa who's gifts please me to the core??
Yet who's very identify, in vain, I continue to explore???
You amaze and delight me right down to the floor!

Muddie, dear, you're much too easy to please. The pebbles and shells are just to let you know I haven't forgotten you while my elves search the corners of the earth for your actual present. And it could be that the Singaporean shipment, rather than being a huge hint, is a ruse to keep you from knowing my actual geograpical location. Sometimes locations can be a clue as to Mudcat names, but not always. Keep smiling and keep watching your mailbox.

Yippee!!!! My present arrived from Singapore!!! And it was exactly what I asked for and I am thrilled with it. Loved the stamps, loved the Robot Bug mailer box, wrapped round with official green Inspection Tape!!!, loved the note and most of all, loved the contents. Secret Santa, there is nothing that could have given me a bigger smile. I have shells from Hastings, shells from Spain, from Belize, from Hawaii as well as my own California coast, but none as treasured as these.

I know I should have waited until Christmas, but then, I never do. And besides, one side of the box was crushed a bit and it was necessary to examine contents for damage, right?

I am embarrassed to say that though you have given me such a huge hint, I am still at a loss to know who you are. Please, please put me out of my misery and tell me who was out on the beach picking up shells for me...the ones from the Phillipines are knockouts, and it delights me that the ones from your own local beach are much like common shells I pick up here every time I walk the tideline.

I've seen this thread going on and on but have not been able to translate or decipher it into anything clearly understandable. I take it to mean that there are those here who would like gifts from certain others here for the up and coming season (xmas) and they want to post hints to those from whom they wish to receive gifts from??? Is that close? Or is it the other way around? There are those here who wish to give gifts to others here and don't want to be known by doing so. Who chooses who to be the giver and/or the givee or receiver of said gifts? Is it mutual attraction, predetermined by numismatic ritual, spinning of a wheel or bottle, divine fate? Can we start over here and have someone post just what this is all about? Lay out the ground rules a little for those of us who are a little slow at this sort of thing. I take it that this has gone on before but I didn't see a link to a past thread to explain any of these questions. Or is it just suppose to be some kind of a big guessing game? Befuddled
