I happened upon a Web site I'd not seen before called Music Potential. It isn't going to win any Web design awards but it sure has a lot of good musical information.

I submitted it as a new Mudcat link but was disappointed to discover that a link can only be associated with a single category. The description I entered said:

This site contains lyrics, chords, tabs and specialized instruction on: general learning, practice strategy, rhythm, modes, guitar, mandolin, fiddle, and bass.
each of which have been the subject of many threads. I entered it as a lyrics site which falls very short of describing it's primary value. If any of the JoeClones can cross reference the link into other categories, it will make it a more readily accessable resource.

In the meantime, check out the site and see what you think.

hmmm, looks as though it deserves closer inspection. Lots of words to songs. This is good. Thanks Mark

I ran into a problem when I clicked on the sites links to music tab and song lyrics. The pages loaded in my browser as the HTML page source code as plain text rather than a representation of the code.
It was possible to save the code and paste it into a text editor then rename the file with a FILENAME.HTML extension. It then will load into a browser and display presumably as was intended, but this is a lot of hassle if you just want to look at a page to see what it contains.
Quack!
GtD.

I'll go take a look at the code when I have some time. I've quit devoting hard drive space for multiple browsers and only keep MSIE on my systems so all I can say for sure is that it worked okay with MSIE 6.0.2800 SP1.
