Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Twa Corbies From: Jim McLean Date: 25 Oct 02 - 11:50 AM It was Morris Blythman, AKA Thurso Berwick, who wedded the Breton tune Al Alarc'h (The Swan) to the words of The Twa Corbies during the fifties. Jim Mclean |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Twa Corbies From: Mrs.Duck Date: 23 Oct 02 - 02:11 PM I just started to type :- Is he a Cardboard Cutout? when my browser window exploded to be replaced by THIS ONE . I don't know if the Internet is actively hijacking Sychronicity for its own purposes (or even Porpoises!) but out there in Cyberspace Nobody can hear you SCREAM.......... I didn't rate Footloose, but I thought he was okay in Tremors..... Quack!!!!!!1 GtD (on Mrs.Duck's cookie) |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Twa Corbies From: Sorcha Date: 23 Oct 02 - 11:51 AM I have no idea of the version, but if you will put Child#26 in the "Lyrics and Knowledge" search box you will find a lot of versions here. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Twa Corbies From: Geoff the Duck Date: 23 Oct 02 - 11:49 AM There have been a number of previous discussions of this song including links and references to the words. If you go to the box at the top of this page - Lyrics & Knowledge Search - and type in "corbies" you should bring up a list of links to four sets of lyrics found in the Digital Tradition plus about 200 comments within previous threads. From these you should be able to find out all you wish to know, and probably plenty which you did not need to know. Many mudcatters would be able to give you links and sets of words, but if you know HOW to navigate this site, it will make it easier for you to find information in future. It is usually not difficult to find information which has been previously discussed, and a search often saves time with a simple lyric request such as yours. If you need something more obscure, then most 'catters will try to help, some with internet searches and others by using their own resources. Welcome to the Mudcat, and if you like it, please visit again. Quack!!!! Geoff the Duck! |
