Well, as for songs, I'd love to hear someone announce that they are going to do Orange Blossom Special at a Bluegrass Festival, and after the EEEEhaaaahs died down, do it in waltz time..

Jerry

Doing the Irish Pub scene with my old band "The ABITS" a few years back, someone shouted out a request for "The Wild Rover". "In G - reggae," I muttered to my companions - and that's how we did it. It did at least save us from requests for the rest of the rent-a-Mick set!

My son sent me a great photo of George W. holding an open book, talking to a little girl who appeared to be reading along with him. The only difference between the two of them was that he was holding his book upside down..

Alas, Jerry, I'd love to believe that one's true, too, but if you look at the cover of the book Bush is holding, you'll see it's a mirror image of the one the girl's holding, a sure sign of Photoshoppery.

An excellent place to check out all these things (especially the ones we want to believe!) is snopes.com

JJ... I'll have to check the photo... Art Thieme sent me a photo of the shooting of Lee Harvey Oswald, with an electric guitar skillfully added, so that his grimace as he's clutching his stomach makes him look like your every day heavy metal guitarist stretching for that high note..

Jerry

Hiya,

Maddy Prior doing vocals like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkRWTWBBsAc

Or a whole album of blues covers.

I'd love to hear her do both. She probably wouldn't be able to sing ever again after the 1st one, so maybe not a good idea ….

I've actually done two of these, one called "The Leonard Cohen Shantymen", the other in the style of Ozzie Osbourne:- "Always Keep a Child Ballad up your Sleeve" - will probably get them on Soundcloud at some point.
