Subject: RE: Carolyn Robson appearing at Rishworth UK From: GUEST,Boab Date: 28 Oct 02 - 01:56 AM Am delighted to find reference to Carolyn! I'll refrain from telling how many years since I was in Carolyn's company in the folk club of her old home town --Hexham, Norhumberland---but I greatly admired her singing then, and was particularly entranced by her rendition of MacCrimmon's Lament. I have been raking around for a disc/cassette/c.d. carrying this song by Carolyn, but have drawn a blank so far. So if Bob And Sue could mention the continued interest in her career from "Scotch Bob " from Hexham, I would be well pleased! Give my regrets that I'm a few thousand miles from Rishworth, and cannot be in her audience. |

Subject: RE: Carolyn Robson appearing at Rishworth UK From: GUEST,Boab Date: 28 Oct 02 - 02:42 AM Boab again! My curiosity aroused, I have just now returned from a visit to Carolyn's website courtesy of the miraculous "Google". Not only that---but on her latest album, there it was--"MacCrimmon's Lament". The order form is ready! |

Subject: RE: Carolyn Robson appearing at Rishworth UK From: 8_Pints Date: 29 Oct 02 - 08:39 PM Mr Patterson, Carolyn did remember you and regaled the audience with your "Happy New Year" emails (30 yrs worth!) that you sent recently. She thought you were in Vancouver when last heard of, and I'm glad you were able to track down "McCrimmon's Lament" on her CD "All the Fine Young Men" [5 027447 019322]. I don't think there is a single poor track on there. Co-incidentally, Sue Weir was in the audience who had played bass clarinet on the backing tracks, but whom Carolyn had never met! It was nice to see her thanked publicly for adding her contribution. A varied and very enjoyable event. Bob & Sue vG |

Subject: RE: Carolyn Robson appearing at Rishworth UK From: 8_Pints Date: 30 Oct 02 - 12:02 PM I would just like to comment on the bollocks that 8 Pints has just posted - he got confused with his Sues! It was Sue Burgess who was in the audience, who sings with "Regal Slip". They apparently put some backing vocals on one of Carolyn's earlier albums, but had never met until last night! The rest of Bob's posting is accurate though. We did enjoy the evening. Sue vG |
