Hi guys,I am looking for any of clinton fords song both lyrics and chords. However, in particular I am looking for: "the old fashioned bustle my grand mother wore", "when it's night time in italy, it's wednesday over her" and "He played his ukelele as the ship went down."
If anyone has any other of clintons songs I would appreciate if you could contact me.

My favorite Clinton Ford song was "Fanlight Fanny (the Frowsy Nightclub Queen)". The lyrics are posted on a thread somewhere here on Mudcat.

Castle Music have released a 2-CD set (50 tracks) "Clinton Ford Run to the door: Pye Anthology " CMDDD 502 for £9.99 UK at Amazon UK.
He's also got a couple of tracks on the Merseysippi Jazz Band CD Senior Moments (wonder why I bought that?!)

I think in a previous thread I mentioned interviewing Clinton a few years ago for a country and western magazine (credibility crash, sorry). Lovely guy.

He is my hero for co-writing 'The Old Bazaar in Cairo'.

Thanks guys for helping. This gives me somethig to start on. I have been told Clinton knicked stuff of George Formby! so I have now got to chase this up. If anyone has any recommended sites for George Formby I would very much appreciate any info.
Murray, that is one of my favourite songs of Clintons aswell. Mustapha also ranks as one of my favourites!

You probably know this, but Clinton Ford also recorded under the name Ali Ben Dhown - 2 tracks, 'Mustapha' and 'Turkish Delight' appear on the Petal Pushers LP (Chess, 1967), which I think was only released in the US.

I also remember him singing 'Buffalo Gals' and 'Sally In Our Alley'.

On second thought, it wasn't 'Sally In Our Alley', it was 'On Mother Kelly's Doorstep' (which mentions "Sally was the smartest down our alley...").
