Subject: RE: Child Ballads on e-Bay From: Joe Offer Date: 14 Mar 03 - 11:52 AM With a starting bid of $100, I think I'd choose to get the Loomis House Edition throught Dick Greenhaus at Camsco, or direct from Loomis House. Volume 2 is available now, about $25 paperback and $35 hardcover - but Dick can get if for you cheaper. -Joe Offer- |

Subject: RE: Child Ballads on e-Bay From: Malcolm Douglas Date: 06 Nov 02 - 01:03 AM Probably a reasonable price for that edition (given that it's out of print, hardback, and that all editions of Child tend to sell for inflated prices), but the new Loomis House edition (assuming that all 5 volumes get published) will be much better value; beside the addition of music where it's available, the paper quality appears to be better than that used for Folklore Press publications in the 1950s. |
