With a starting bid of $100, I think I'd choose to get the Loomis House Edition throught Dick Greenhaus at Camsco, or direct from Loomis House. Volume 2 is available now, about $25 paperback and $35 hardcover - but Dick can get if for you cheaper.

The $52 is the Dover paperback set of 5 vols. Still a few days left.

The one I saw was the Dover edition, 5 volumes - same as mine, which I bought about 1981 new.

I finally did find it on Ebay........was 52.00 last night. Think i'll stick with the Loomis house edition.....i wanna learn and play, not marry the damned thing. 300$ OUCH!

Probably a reasonable price for that edition (given that it's out of print, hardback, and that all editions of Child tend to sell for inflated prices), but the new Loomis House edition (assuming that all 5 volumes get published) will be much better value; beside the addition of music where it's available, the paper quality appears to be better than that used for Folklore Press publications in the 1950s.

Child English Scottish Ballads full set in HC. Now at $227.50. 1956 Folklore Press edition. Ends Nov. 09, 2:20 PM PST. I put Child Ballads in the blank and it came up.
