Now Giok, don't get impatient. Your prezzie is ready (and it's a good 'un) but you need to receive a few more hints before the prezzie gets mailed. Since the mail service from here at the North Pole to Scotland is very reliable, I'm in no hurry to send it just yet. But keep an eye out for other surprises from the elves all over the world.

Be sure to send me pictures of yourself and your prezzies for a web page summary. Last year we posted them before Christmas because many folks opened theirs beforehand. There shouldn't be too much of a problem eliminating guesses since not everyone sends a picture. But would everyone rather we wait, or what?

Four days from the UK to me! So am I the first santee to get my gifts? The package arrived on Saturday and I pulled it out of the mailbox today.

I think at least one of the gifts might get opened before Christmas because the wonderful letter enclosed told me what it was, and I can't wait to hear it. (I believe it's the item shaped like a CD.) The customs sticker gives a slight hint about what the other items might be. I may give into temptation on the rest - I've never had much success with behaving myself when it comes to presents.

I don't think I knew my Secret Santa was even involved in this!

I've had a few problems getting the elves to stop going sailing and get back to work(they said the cruiser needed more testing;-)) )

Then we had to get the parcel dried out and onto one of those big birds in the sky.

I got mine! I got mine! The postman delivered it to my old address despite a "Change of Address" card dutifully filed. But a kind neighbor called and I went and retrieved it. Seven packages and a card in one big bag. I opened the card. Firecat is my SS! But being a disgustingly good little girl, I won't open any until Christmas....unless of course I have a bad day!

I got mine today,,,,from Yorkshire. Man alive I damn near cried and I posted on another thread for the SS to FESS UP!! I got this beautiful HANDMADE Aran sweater along with my Mudcat badge (knows Bill well).....Also enclosed was a window/bumper sticker pertaining to Dog Rescue....So Ol' Spaw went back and researched the threads until I found those EXACT words that are on the sticker........The post was by Mrs. Cobble and I'm betting dollars to donuts she is my SS.

Well, just for you, I will tell you that your prezzie has been loaded up on the reindeer sleigh and now I'm negotiating with the AUOTFCOEARXD (Amalgamated Union of the Federated Coalition of Elves & Reindeer, Xmas Division) to start their journey.

They claim that they deserve alcoholic content in their pre-flying warm-up drinks, but I keep reminding them that as responsible providers of a public service they are not allowed to drink any alcohol otherwise they will lose their jobs. Present opened, listened to, enjoyed thoroughly. Amos, you managed to find two complete CD's of songs that I have never heard before (not that that's difficult to do), but like a lot. Oh, wait, actually I'd heard one of the ones on the shanty CD before-- The Apprentice Boy. The notes say he learned it from Roisin White, well, that's who I heard sing it. Very cool. Thanks.

Oh, and in case the rest of you are wondering, I got a CD of shanties and sea songs sung by Richard Adrianowicz, and a CD of lots of different music performed by a trio called Touchwood. And I'm very happy with them. Once again, thank you Amos!

Yes, that green sticker is a real kill-joy, but not being honest in what you write could cause delays if the kill-joy customs people decide to look inside, so it's not really worth the risk.

So anyone receiving a parcel with a green sticker - don't read it, no matter how tempted you are.

LOL!!! This is just too, too funny! My SS package has arrived and I never, ever would have guessed......MICCA!! I made some silly comment in chat the other day about duct taping Micca, a la Bobert, and he sort of panicked......later, he PM'd me about seriously duct taping his Santee packgage, and, boy did he ever! ROFLMAO!!! Customs label said "candy", so I just had to open it, didn't I? My mailbox has been a delight of late...have received 2 wonderful gifts from my Santa...exactly the kind of things I like...gifts from the seashore, handled by somebody I know. Or, I should say, somebody I'd LIKE to know...my SS has kept their identity under their Santa hat and search thru treads tho I may, I cannot ferret out identity. Am now busily working out a nifty display for these great shells, bits of coral, etc. and assembling in my mind a collage of the beautiful stamps that have winged these treasures to me. Got me package last night! It's from the great land of New Mexico and isn't hissing or rattling or anything. I'm not going to open it until the 21st - Yule. Oooooo, I love spreading holidays out. I have a friend who celebrates birthdays and half birthdays 6 months later, so she has two BDs a year. I always celebrate a birthday for at least a month. I have had lots more trouble getting on line - I couldn't get on at all last night & had so much trouble tonight that I sent a rather incoherent message to me techo friend who has just answered.

And my brain is so tired the clues just look like words! Tho seeing bears & eagles sounds lovely. Once I was up the coast (around Helen's way) & saw a pair of sea eagles - they just glided over the trees & all the smaller birds took off to protect their nests. Lots of loud "piss off, go away" noises & the eagles just glided on, totally ignoring the noise. In the middle of all the bear pictures on my wall is a drawing of an eagle soaring across a sun with rays that fill the page - this was the logo of the meditation retreats that took place by the lake where I saw the eagles.

Evey day there is a parcel card in my mail box I go "goodie, it my pressie" - the most recent disappointment was a friend's new CD, so it wasn't really a disappointment.

I'm totally confused after receiving a package yesterday. (I've been a little under the weather and haven't had a chance to "properly analyze" things yet.)

I received a VCR tape which had so many hints that I don't know which ones to believe. It was fun watching the tape though, and I definitely want to travel to New England and see everything. (I'm a little nutty too.) There were so many things I liked that it must have just been coincindence.

It looked like Jeri from NH, then Bat Goddess with all the whales, then I was sure it was MMario with all the relatives and Cape Cod, but then only Amergin would be that devious to give so many clues. I guess I'll just have to wait for more clues.

Open Mike--roll mops are longish strips of herring wrapped several times around a pickle and stabbed through with a toothpick to keep them in place. We find them in with the pickled herring in my neck of the woods. The manufacturer is in the eastern portions of Canada.

Glad it got there before Christmas! It wasn't what I was planning on sending, but I couldn't find one of those - at least not in time. Oh yeah - if you haven't opened it yet, it's also full of styrofoam peanuts. I found out from the postal clerk that you can eat the straighter ones - they're made of corn starch or something. They taste sort of like stale pork rinds without that pork rind taste.

You mentioned a 3rd package. I had the USPS hold my mail. Did they not find it when I picked up the rest of it, or is it still on the way?

Got your prezzies yesterday.   Got a lovely celtic CD holder and some handmade cards/notelets, together with two CDs.   Very very happy and it gave me something to enjoy on my first week back in work!!!

My other half has actually heard of Mrs Miller although I hadn't. However, I had the joy of her rendition of the Girl from Ipanema played on Radio 2 this morning so can't wait to play the CD.
