Subject: The Orange and The Green From: Alice Date: 28 Nov 97 - 09:34 PM "The Orange and the Green"... I have a recording of this song and searched in the DT for lyrics with no results. I can get most of the words from the recording (by the Grehan Sisters), but if anyone can post them, I would appreciate it. Part of the Chorus is, "It was the biggest mixup that you have ever seen, my father he was Orange, and my mother she was Green." Same tune as "The Rising of the Moon" and "The Wearing of the Green". Subject: RE: orang and green song From: alison Date: 12 Jun 98 - 07:51 PM Hi, And if you can't get the tune and chords there, it's easy to get hold of the music for "The rising of the moon" and "The wearing of the green". All basically the same tune. Slainte Alison |

Subject: RE: orang and green song From: alison Date: 13 Jun 98 - 09:04 PM hi, Only a few alterations 2nd line "Proud protestant was he." And the last verse "That awful colour(note the spelling Joe..(HEE HEE)) problem of the orange and the green. Slainte Alison |
Subject: RE: orang and green song From: Joe Offer Date: 14 Jun 98 - 12:36 AM Oh, yes, Alison, we must be authentic, mustn't we? Picky, picky, picky... Hey, I didn't type it, ya know - I just pasted in the line breaks. I didn't feel it was proper to correct spelling, too. I sometimes can't resist the temptation to edit out extraneous apostrophes, but I usually leave the spelling alone. -Joe Offer- |
