The fire in East Enders has robbed us of two of our favourite(?) celtic characters in one fell swoop, the much loved Trevor and Tom the firefighter, who turned out to be a hero in the end. Colm O Maonlai (brother of Liam from The Hot House Flowers) will now have to go back to the Butter adds on RTE, and playing the Bodhran of which he's a fairly decent exponent.

I've never quite understood how someone who went to school with Ian Beale and Sharon Watts managed to hold on to his Irish Accent so well.

Anyway they had a good oul' session at the wake. The band were The London Lasses and Pete Quinn. They should give them a regular gig at the Vic (if they can get a PEL).

Perhaps they could arrange for a catastrophic explosion at a pie and Eyel factory and get rid of all the miserable buggers in one fell swoop.

Irish and Scottish characters never last long in Eastenders. Their presence probably makes the rest of cast nervous.

In fact anyone who isn't white East End born and bred tends to be dumped soon enough.
