Subject: Lyr Add: BLAME IT ON THE SUN (from Stevie Wonder) From: outfidel Date: 12 Nov 02 - 03:33 PM Hope this helps the heartache... Stevie Wonder, "BLAME IT ON THE SUN", from the great album Talking Book Where has my love gone? How can I go on? It seems dear love has gone away. Where is my spirit? I'm nowhere near it, Oh yes, my love has gone astray. But I'll blame it on the sun, The sun that didn't shine, I'll blame it on the wind and the trees. I'll blame it on the time that never was enough, I'll blame it on the tide and the sea, But, my heart blames it on me. Who poured the love out? What made this bitter doubt? Is peace not here for me to see? Wish I could tell you, But, words won't come for me to speak. But I'll blame it on the sun, That didn't fill the sky, I'll blame it on the birds and the trees. I'll blame it on the day that ended once too soon, I'll blame it on the nights that could not be, But, my heart blames it on me. (Background)...Yeh, yeh, yeh, ooh, Your heart blames it on you this time. |

Subject: RE: Songs of Faithless Women From: katlaughing Date: 12 Nov 02 - 03:14 PM Frank to Valentino by the late, lamented Dave Carter and his partner, Tracy Grammer some great lyrics... got himself married at 17 she looked real pretty but she talked kinda mean he thought they'd work things out in the fullness of time twenty years later he's headed south, a short-range victim of her sawed-off mouth... and, he thinks he's found a way to cure his working blues... Sorry to hear this, Naes. luvyakat |
Subject: RE: Songs of Faithless Women From: HuwG Date: 12 Nov 02 - 02:52 PM How about, "Courting in the Kitchen"? It's odd, but I can't find it in the Digitrad; I would have expected it to be quite well known. Subject: RE: Songs of Faithless Women From: Merritt Date: 12 Nov 02 - 02:28 PM In a slightly different direction for music and relationships, Sam Theard published I'll Be Glad When You're Dead (You Rascal You). A hit for Louis Armstrong around the same time. Heard takes it out on the other guy instead of the woman tho'. - Merritt |

Subject: RE: Songs of Faithless Women From: sharyn Date: 12 Nov 02 - 12:33 PM Try: Devilish Mary Black Dog and Sheepcrook I Wonder What's Keeping My True Love Tonight 'Gin I Were a Baron's Heir (not strictly dumping, but ...) Pretty Saro 'Twas on an April Morning Young Roger the Miller (mutual, serial dumping) Rich Irish Lady (she rejects him, dies repenting) Loving Hannah (aka I Went to Mass Last Sunday) I Once Loved A Lass (aka The Week Before Easter, The False Bride) The Nobleman's Wedding I'm sure there are lots more. Some of these may not be the particular flavor of rejection you are seeking. There's "Barbara Allen," of course. I don't have the capacity to create MIDI files, but I imagine some of these things might be in the DT. Good Luck |
Subject: Songs of Faithless Women From: Naemanson Date: 12 Nov 02 - 12:15 PM Having once again taken a shot to the heart I would like to find some songs of women who have dumped their lovers. I already sing "Sally Free And Easy" and "Oggy Man" but my repertoire is somewhat slack in this field. So, while I continue to duct tape my heart back together how about some ideas. Chords and midi files would be welcome as well. Country-western songs need not apply. It just ain't my style. |
