Hello, i recently borrowed a smashin LP by Mary Asquith called 'closing time' and remember seeing Mary a couple of times at the Ring-O-Bells in Middleton many years ago and, i think, the Black Lion in Manchester. Does anyone know her current whereabouts, still performing etc?? Great folk/blues voice!!

I saw Mary Asquith on New Years Day this year at the session at the Harrington Arms in Gawsworth, near Congleton, Cheshire. She was still singing and playing, but I got the impression she wasn't on the club scene any more.

I had to see what was going on on this thread, the name clicked from many years back. I remember Mary having a pretty good voice, and lots of hair, that was about thirty ++ years ago in several of the same places you mention above. I have been in Canada since 1977. Maybe we met back then.
