My great-grandmother migrated from Ireland in 1860 and two of her daughters used the expression "in more trouble than Finny McCoombe" when they were gossiping about the troubles of others.

About 10 yhears ago I heard an Irish folk song used on a documentary shown in Australia, the song was about the troubles of one Finnegan McCoombe who had lost his cow and his wife had run away amoung other woes.

I would love to have a copy of the lyrics or any leads to obtaining a recording of the song.

Just a thought: I see references to a horse called Finnegan McCool .May be connected.
