I had been looking for a particular CD for a few years without success, "Moonglow" by Winnipeg's SwingSoniq. I had tried all my regular sources. A few weeks ago I clicked on the Special Product Request link on Mudcat, requested the CD and got a reply that Dick could get it. His pricing was competitive and his service prompt. I ordered two copies and had him ship one to my Uncle. They both arrived quickly.

Thanks Dick. I will be ordering more from you in the future. 'Catters, give him a try.

Thanx for the plug, Steve. I'd just like to point out that I have competitive prices on easy=to-find CDs also.

The real test is whether Dick has any Punch the Horse CD's. Now there's a challenge.

Bert,

You're probably right. I guess I didn't try him first because I'm in Canada and I checked theh Canadian sources first. The odd thing is that SwingSoniq are a Canadian band. I had to go to the U.S. to get their CD.

Does Camsco welcome independent (no label) CDs? How does that work?

Fortunato-
Camsco is happy to sell independents. You must realize, though, hat the bulk of my business is via mail order. I supply what people ask for, and really can't promote recordings. If you think of the number of independent re ordings that exist, you'll realize that I can't stock all of them.

My solution has been to order recordings from independents when I get a request for them. For most independents, this means I order one or two CDs at a time---if that's all right with you, E-mail me and let me know what you have.

If I go to the Record Shop at the top of this page, are those orders filled by Dick?

Shucks, I'm in the record business myself, and I still order the great traditional folk CDs from Dick. He's also good at keeping me informed about what has recently become available.

Don't forget that Dick is the sole US supplier of my CD, "Songs from Ashdale", and ALL the money goes to Mudcat.

Cheers, Bron.

Just a suggestion: When someone requests lyrics or a tune the recording info should be included. There are lots of lyric posts without info about where to get the CD's.

reggie miles-
Yes I do. Give me a ring at 800/548-FOLK (3655) or E-mail me at dick@camsco.com

CAMSCO's order-taking isn't really an appropriate subject for an open forum.
