Short Notice, but in case there are any Mudcatters within driving distance, I want to let you know I'll be doing a CD Release show this weekend in Fort Worth at Jack London's. It's really easy to find and I have been working on a good show with a great local fiddler named Michelle Feldman (Idle Road, Chattervox and other regional bands). The show is the only DFW area CD Release I'll be doing, so please come on out and say help me fill the place! I've listed the details below:

Jack Londons Olde San Francisco Saloon
1217 Oakland Boulevard, Fort Worth, TX 76103
(817) 451-9228
doors open at 5PM
cover is $5
show from 6PM to 8:30PM

directions take I30 toward Fort Worth
just before you get to downtown Fort Worth take
exit number 18, towards OAKLAND BLVD.
Jack Londons Old San Francisco Saloon is right there at the exit on the NE corner of the intersection of I30 and Oakland Blvd

Cheers

Dear Jed,

I'll do my darndest to make it! Michelle Feldman sure sounds familiar -- I know I must have seen/heard her before.

If I don't make it, then great good luck with your CD and all the best to you and yours!

-- Áine

(Surely Wesley S. can round up some of his Fort Worth cronies and make a good showing on your behalf!!)

I think Jack London's is a bit too far from Young and Bloor for a Sunday drive, Rick. But I wish you could be here!

Áine - I'd love to see you there! Please come on out, if you can make it. You'll bring me good luck! And I'm hoping Wesley can bring a Fort Worth quorum (is how you spell that?).

I'm in southwest Fort Worth--and as I read your directions I thought "here's another of those Dallas-centric" folks who thinks that all approaches to Fort Worth are from the east! Amon Carter would turn in his grave! Ha!

I have been meaning to try to catch some of the local Mudcatters, so this looks like a great opportunity. I'll see what I can do.

Since it's Sunday night, it's good it ends early, because my kids have a school day the next day. But I'll have to check to see if I can take children into a drinking establishment in Fort Worth for a performance? They're 10 and 14. I'd like to take them.

By the way, Rick - I did a Fort Worth radio show on Tuesday afternoon (repeated this morning) and the DJ asked about you and about Paul. I told the story of you and I connecting at the FSGW Getaway Oct 2001 - and you hookng me up wth Paul. Also - I've been seeing Angus Fraser on the folk charts a few times. I've had an email or two from DJs or folks played it/heard it. Feels pretty good!

SRS - I believe it is a good kids environment. The show certainly is, my kids'll be there (but they're old kids). If you like, give the Restaurant a call. I would love to see you there.

Jed,
Most of the Constant Billy contingent in Houston won't make it. Darn! I sure wish I had picked up one of your CD's at the ACF. I didn't have any money on me and by the time I was hooked up with Bill we were at the other stage. CDBaby is guess. I will make sure Russell knows about it. He's from FW and will be home for at least part of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Have a great show.

Emily

And it's a bit far from the Royal Mile Pub as well, Jed. Sorry I can't be there. So I'll heckle you from here:

KUMBAYA, WE WANT KUMBAYA!

Have fun all the best! Best regards

Chance

LOL, Chance - that kind of heckling (from Royal Mile Pub) I can take!

Emily - I really enjoyed seeing y'all in the Austin Rain and Celtic Festival! I;ll look for Russell, if he can make it (tell him to bring a friend or two)! I hope to see y'all again soon. I'll be sure Russell has a CD for you, if he makes it.

Sent out a couple of e-mails to folks down that way.... one to an old friend with libertarian leanings and an Irish wife from Massachusetts... Told them I wanted to try some of that vicarious living stuff... Have a great time!

Good luck, my good friend. Wish I could be there.

Mick

Sorry I couldn't make it--after the trip to the emergency room with my daughter (got bit by her friend's cat, and in two short days this has evolved into a complicated story) I was tapped out. Practically bleeding money this weekend on all of the kidstuff that came up. Please post again if you do anything more in the area.
