Subject: FolkLib Index website From: GUEST Date: 26 Nov 02 - 07:06 PM Is there a link to FolkLib Index website in the Mudcat links section? I didn't find one, and am currently having trouble with the search engine timing out or giving an error message. |

Subject: RE: FolkLib Index website From: GUEST Date: 27 Nov 02 - 03:59 PM Thanks masato for posting that. I asked because I had told a friend of mine about the site, but couldn't remember the address, so told them to check here to find the link on the links page. I guess I was wrong about that, as FolkLib has a page listing the sites with known links to them, and Mudcat isn't on it. Is there some way to get this great site on Mudcat's links page? |
Subject: RE: FolkLib Index website From: GUEST Date: 27 Nov 02 - 04:29 PM Wrong, wrong, wrong. There IS a link provided from Mudcat. It just took me quite some time to find it. It is under the styles/genres links under the "General Folk" category. I admit to being totally baffled by the index system used on the links pages, and I still wonder why there isn't just a clickable alphabetical sort to finding them in addition to the subject sorts currently given when you click on links. Once the search engine let me in, I also found the link in the permathreads. I won't ask if or how the permathread links are cross-referenced to the links page. |

I apologize for any broken links found at my site. If anyone has an update for any broken link they find, please send it and I will be glad to update my pages. With 650+ pages and 8,000+ different Folk and 4,000+ Wisconsin recording artist's links to maintain over the almost ten years my site has been on-line since 11-25-1995, I do the best I can. Admittedly, while I work on my 2006 book, "FolkLib Index: Wisconsin Discography (Recordings by Wisconsin resident musicians 1948-2005)" the Wisconsin links do get maintenance priority, but I work on the general Folk Music links as I have time, and as I get E-Mail requests to add new links. I also got behind in maintenance recently while I was getting Bill Markwick's wonderful piece of work back on-line, "The Folk File: A Folkie's Dictionary"
Please write if you have additions/corrections to anything on my website. Thank you. |
