Since it's pretty clear you and I had not communicated much (if at all) before our SS assignments, I've just gotta go through those threads. I probably won't be able to do it until the week of Christmas, but rest assured, I will. Meanwhile, don't make it too easy for me. (I was trying to make that "double" thing harder, since I don't know of any Mudcats who are twins. But you just wait. I will.) The next day, on a different computer (same format) the first post appeared out of alignment, so I configured and posted the second one. That night, the first post continued to appear screwed up but the second one looked fine (in preview and in the forum). The next day the FIRST one looked fine again, but the SECOND one was out of alignment! Gotta be those *%!*@! elves! |

You are on the right coast, but alas I've never been a Sea Captain, nor had a one legged man chase me across the country (but look out for my Evil Twin. He appears in the middle of the night in the strangest places by following the sound of caterwalling 'catters). I have sung a shanty or two, and wondered about a Minch. I've cried for help as I searched for what I lost but no one could hear me. Where I live folkies are everywhere. Call it luck or fortune, but we even have to shut the bathroom shades to avoid 'catters stares.
My own secret santa still hasn't left a clue, but my identity will become apparent when you get your last gift. It's in the mail tomorrow if we don't get caught be freezing rain.

It seems that you have a better time than I while traveling, though while traveling from Chicago to D.C. on AMTRAK in 79' we got caught in the snow storm that caused the Mayor to lose the next election (Bilandic ?). It was fine in the Club car listening to someone pound out on the piano "The AMTRAK BLues" composed on the spot. Then the booze ran out and we spent the rest of the time in a roving poker game that moved from ladies bathroom to ladies bathroom, and sleeping in the luggage racks. We were only 24 hours late into D.C. |

In fact, some say my sanity has always been secret! *G* I have posted a message (anonymously, of course) to my Santee in the Hints" thread, and I've gotten a couple of hints there from my Santa (about whose identity I have a hunch). I have not mailed my Santee's present yet, but there's still just enough time to get it delivered before Christmas if I send it in the next 3 days or so. I think I already got and opened my Santa's present. (If not, maybe there's a real Santa!) Anyway there was a beautiful CD of old recordings, including "If I Can't Sell It, I'm Gonna Keep Sittin' On It," which was waiting for me when I got home the other day, and I didn't order it, so I wonder... If I'd thought it was a present, I'd have saved the surprise for Christmas, but I'm gonna wrap it and open it and play it on Christmas. Anyway, if it is from my SS, it corroborates my suspicions about his identity. |

I mean a teeny tiny tea set in blue with yellow sunflowers. I love it. Funny though - one of my movers had the task of packing my tiny treasures. Their Santa's don't seem to exist :-(((( If you ARE a Santa who hasn't admitted your existance PLEASE put them out of their misery. It's very easy. Log off, post to any of the Santa threads as Guest, ....... Secret Santa, submit the message and then log on again in your own name. It's half the fun of being a Santa and it really makes it all worthwhile - what would YOU feel like if you thought no-one cared? |
