Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Death in Maine From: GUEST,.gargoyle Date: 04 Dec 02 - 11:17 PM The railroads built the "touris industry" of Maine.
The automobile, allowed folks the freedom to travel where they chose.
The common folk, chose to travel away from, mosquitos, moose-flies, deer-flies, no-see-ums, leaches, and all their kindred blood-sucking kin.
Maine became isoloated....the expression "Summer People" shrank to a desperate plea..."Send us Some People"....we don't care when...just send them in.
Unfortunately, they had aready been seduced away to the likes of Palm Beach, Palm Desert and Palm Springs.
Times are tough...and they're goin' get tougher...Bid Daddy Demorcates....gotta make some cuts...
Recession boyquet....that good ol Darwinian Demo say....Survival of the Fittest...If it don't pay...you can't play...try again in early May.
Sincerely, |
