Hi all
I was sitting in Poland as you do in December, and still am come to think of it, wondering about all the great bands that never made it as big as they should have. Now having access to the net has been a real god send as it means I can go and find sites of bands that are really obscure but still fantastic.
So here are some of my own not even one hit wonders but brilliant bands
The Silencers
The Kevin McDermott Orchestra
The River Detectives
The Dan Reed Network

All brilliant songwriters but no real recognition either in or outside there native countries.

There are far too many bands, musicians and writers who have always managed not to be in the right place at the right time, and hence never made the 'Big Time'to even consider listing them .

I've heard only one song by the band Big Cow, but I love it. It's called "Lonelytown." Click here for the lyrics posted in another thread. There is a link there that plays the .mp3 file. Let me know what you think. Smells like hit potential to me!

Capercaillie is an under rated group. They should be more famous than
they are.

I agree Oysterband should be on a far bigger stage & so should (although solo not band) Jackie Leven in my mind one of the the best singer/songwriters this country (U.K.) has.

I've always wondered why the Scottish group, The Clydesiders, aren't one of the most popular bands.
