A Fisherman's Prayer (God Rest Ye...)

God grant that on my next vacation I may have this wish
A fishing hole to soothe my soul and fill my supper dish
It seems when I take my vacation so do all the fish
Oh grant me this one vacation wish, merciful wish
A fishing hole with lots of hungry fish

God grant on my next fishing trip I bring enough bug spray
That always squirts and really works to keep those bugs at bay
Of twenty bites, it's just not right nineteen were mosquitos
Twenty bites and nineteen were mosquitos, mosquitos
One lousy fish and nineteen mosquitos

God grant that I may live to fish until my dying day
And when my final cast is made and life has slipped away
I pray that your great landing net will catch me in its sweep
And in your mercy you will judge me big enough to keep
And in your mercy big enough to keep
