Subject: WFDU-FM'S TRADITIONS Christmas Show
From: Ron Olesko
Date: 20 Dec 02 - 11:42 AM

This Sunday, December 22, I am honored to host the 23rd Annual WFDU-FM's TRADITIONS Christmas Party. The broadcast will take place from 3 to 6pm Eastern Time on WFDU-FM. WFDU-FM can be found at 89.1FM in the NYC area, or you can listen in via the internet at WWW.WFDU.FM
.

I will be playing traditional carols and folk songs (as well as some contemporary tunes!) as recorded by artists like Pete Seeger, Odetta, Jean Ritchie, Cathie Ryan, Artisan, Cyril Tawney, The Christmas Revels, Nowell Sing We Clear, Joel Mabus, Telynor, Douglas Clegg, and many others. (A few Mudcatters will be included!) We will chat about the history behind the songs and the folklore of the holiday, plus we will spread some holiday cheer!

I many of you will join us for this program. In the past, I've received phone calls from listeners who tell me they are listening with their family and friends, some trimming the tree and everyone enjoying the spirit of the holiday. It is an honor to host this show each year, and I look forward to sharing more music with you this Sunday!

Happy Holidays,

Ron Olesko
WFDU-FM

tsk!...I don't seem to be able to access it...I have the Windows Media Player, but when I click on the "On Air" banner, it simply CLOSES my Opera browser, gives me a "please wait" header on a blank page in my Mozilla browser, and a plain blank page in Netscape 4.79. I almost NEVER open IE, so I don't know if it would make any difference.

In these days of cutting edge technology, we need more that just a brief note about what WILL work, but some ideas of what will NOT work, and why....whether cookies or javascript or a particular browser are required..and why...etc..

I am sorry I could not get in...sounds like a good show..(I guess I should have experimented more during the week to see what might not be working)
