Subject: RE: BS: Happy Yule everyone!! From: katlaughing Date: 21 Dec 02 - 02:54 PM I was going to try to burn a yule log in the backyard, but forgot to bring any wood in to get dry and we had a skiff of snow last night. I have to have help doing it and am not sure I can talk Rog out into the chill of the evening. I will do a special meditation tonight before I go to bed, though. Will also be having supper with my three sisters and might sing a song or two then or play my dulcimer. If I do get a fire going I plan to make some small prayer pouches with red cloth, corn meal and tobacco; then let the fire have them to send the prayers skyward. Good for you, daylia! Merry Solstice!! kat |

Subject: BS: Happy Yule everyone!! From: *daylia* Date: 21 Dec 02 - 02:16 PM Today's the Winter Solstice - the pre-Christian 'Yule'. I'm going to celebrate by lighting some candles after dark, singing some traditional (and original!) Yule songs, doing some quiet reflection on the events of the past year, and beginning work on the 'medicine pouch' I'm creating to help me quit smoking. Which I plan to do on Christmas Day ... Anyone else? Yuletide blessings to all ... daylia |
