Subject: Tech: Adding a guitar pick guard?
From: Matthias

I recently bought a Seagull "S6 + Folk" guitar for my girlfriend as a Christmas present. It has a solid cedar top, but no pick guard. I rarely use a pick on my guitar because I got used to playing with my thumb and I like to play finger-style songs. She is a beginner at guitar and will probably start out strumming with a flat pick.

Should I add a pick guard to the guitar?

Thanks,

Matthias

P.S. You can see the guitar in question at: http://www.seagullguitars.com/products6+folk.htm

Yes, you should. I added a clear stick on guard to my 12 string which came with no guard. It is all but invisible.
