Subject: BS: I opened mine! From: Hollowfox Date: 25 Dec 02 - 09:42 AM Well, I gritted my teeth and was a good girl. I waited all_this_time_ to open my SS box, and boy was it worth it! TNdarlin sent me a wonderful cornucopia for me and the family. The cats are playing with the raffia gift ties. I promised I'd share a *whole box* of chocolate Moon Pies with the Urchins (I didn't say how many I'd share.*g*). I cracked up over the See Rock City decoration, and had to explain what was so funny. Have you read or heard Donald Davis's See Rock City? He's a North Carolina storyteller/author that I think you'd enjoy. I didn't own the book on women in the Middle Ages, and I adore the table runner with the Nutcracker on it. Thank you so much! |

Subject: RE: BS: I opened mine! From: MMario Date: 25 Dec 02 - 01:24 PM WOW! Stilly River Sage sent me a home-made comforter/lap robe in a lovely blue/green plaid. Also a mystery book and a collection of teas. FANTATSTIC! The comforter will join my special "nesting materials" I use when away from home. |

Subject: RE: BS: I opened mine! From: Amos Date: 26 Dec 02 - 11:52 AM I got the most wonderful CD of Scots tunes, and a fine little lapel pin celebrating Scotland. But the Secret Santa left no clue as to his identity!! P'raps he didn't want to waste ink? I dunno. But I hope whoever it was will reveal him/herself so I can thank her/him properly! (I hate writing with double pronouns lie that!) Regards, A |

Subject: RE: BS: I opened mine! From: John MacKenzie Date: 26 Dec 02 - 01:19 PM I think you'll find that lapel pin is a fridge magnet Amos. Mind that you don't knock it off when you get the beer out. Enjoy. He/Me Giok |

Subject: RE: BS: I opened mine! From: rangeroger Date: 26 Dec 02 - 08:07 PM I left work an hour early today and rushed home to the Post Office. Well, rushing is not quite the word to use due to the snow on the pass. Got my parcel, with funny noises when I shook it, took it home an opened it. Inside was a funny little stuffed animal that made noises when you pressed its back.Wasn't sure what it was till the card made the point that it wasn' a hollow fox, it was stuffed. There was also a Gamble Rogers tape with an explanantion on the card of the clue "The synaptic propensity of a pelt". It is part of the lyrics to his song "Airstream trailer Orgy". I haven't put it in the tape player yet as I just now opened the box, but am really looking forward to hearing it. Thank you so much Hollowfox. I will have to send you a picture of my 1940 aluminum tear-drop trailer, which may be too small for an orgy but it is still fun. rr |

Subject: RE: BS: I opened mine! From: TNDARLN Date: 27 Dec 02 - 06:56 PM Glad you liked your present, Ms. Fox! I had fun putting it together, and I'm delighted that the book was new to you. And since I'm not familiar with Donald Davis I'll have to look for his stuff- so Thank YOU! 'Hope everyone had a Merry One! |

Subject: RE: BS: I opened mine! From: rangeroger Date: 27 Dec 02 - 08:30 PM Listened to the Gamble Rogers tape while I was in the shower after I logged off yesterday. Almost fell out of the shower several times as I was laughing so hard. Don't think I can fit 497 people into a tear-drop trailer. At least it doesn't have a back door so I don't have to worry about tricky deputy sheriffs. I really want to meet Agememnon Jones and Still Bill. Might even sell a few Bibles, now that I know the tricks. rr |
