Subject: RE: Help FInding G WHistle FIngering Chart From: GUEST Date: 29 Dec 02 - 12:02 PM THanks Tyg, I have in fact been doing just as you suggjest, I am just curious to see a chart for G. I do hope to play with others at some point, and I have checked out C&F, (I found it shortly after getting my first whistle 2 years ago) but as you say there is so much it it is hard to zero in on the page I realy want. It occurs to me I could post this request there as well. THanks for the input, guess I'll keep digging about. Nick |
Subject: RE: Help FInding G WHistle FIngering Chart From: Tyghress Date: 29 Dec 02 - 11:54 AM Playing a G whistle is identical to playing a D whistle, but the tune comes out in a different key. (Just like playing a guitar with a capo, you play the same chords) For all things Whistle and Wonderful, check out www.chiffandfipple.com and be prepared for more whistle information than you could imagine! Anyway, my suggestion is to get any whistle tutor, and play it as if you were playing a D whistle...granted instead of a scale being d,e,f#,g,a,b,c#,d, it will be g,a,b,c,d,e,f#,G, but unless you're playing WITH other people, it scarcely matters. |
Subject: RE: Help FInding G WHistle FIngering Chart From: GUEST,NIck Date: 29 Dec 02 - 11:21 AM Well It looks like x for closed hole I for half & 0 for open, but I dont realy know what the rest means, I am theory illiterate, and a tabliture slave as well. Subject: RE: Help FInding G WHistle FIngering Chart From: Sorcha Date: 28 Dec 02 - 10:52 PM I don't know how much help it will be, but I found this page. There is a "fingering explanation" towards the middle of the page that uses "xxoo" stuff that I don't understand. Maybe Bob Bolton or alison will be along. |
