Riggy has finally done it and recorded a solo CD of his English repertoire's greatest hits! This CD was a long time coming, as he has sung these and many others from his extensive songbag for many years at folk clubs and festivals. He accompanies himself on English concertina and has double-tracked his voice for the chorus songs. Congratulations, friend, and here's to you.

Riggy's new CD is wonderful! Although most folks think of concertina when Riggy's name comes up he also plays a mean guitar which you will also hear on this album.

Riggy, check on the way.
I very much look forward to hearing you again.
I remember your concertina playing on my very first solo album all those decasdes ago. Brilliant!
Hope you sell a shipload of 'em, and I hope to see you on one of my West coast swings.
Happy New Year.

Seamus

I listened to Riggy's gospel CD on the way to Camp Harmony last week, and then bought his new CD at camp and listened to it on my way home today. Both CD's are downright wonderful. The CD's have a very unpretentious, authentic feel to them - which is a pretty good description of Riggy himself. He's an unassuming person who blends into any group. He's not one to call attention to himself - but when he opens his mouth to sing, everyone pays attention.
Thanks, Riggy. It's always a pleasure to see you and sing with you.

Thanks, Joe !

You sure know how to wash pots pretty good, too.
It was great getting my arms in your sink.

BTW - I have put 3 good 'uns from the new CD up on my site,
as Mp3s, that have been fodder for some CatPosts:
"It's Not Yet Day"
Shari Ajemian's "Stayin' Out all Night"
and Jim Payne's " Wave Over Wave"

At Pam and Dave Swan's New Year's party, Riggy sang (at my request) Home, Lads, Home, my favorite song from his repertoire. He had everyone around him in tears with his beautiful delivery of this poignant song. I mean literally, in tears. I cannot listen to Riggy sing it without becoming an emotional wreck. I'm putting in my will that if he outlasts me, he sings that at my funeral. I mean that.

I was crying right along with C'ranger. It's a beautiful song, beautifully done by RiGGy. Don't think the whole CD is tear jerkers, though. There's something for just about everybody on this disc and you'll have a grand time listening to it. Hustle on over to RiGGy's website and buy a couple. You'll be glad you did.

Hey C'ranger, since we're talking about outlasting each other and all. If you go first, can I have the hat?

The hat's yours, Dave, and, as a special bonus, I'll throw in the coupon I save in the hatband for Colonel Sandhu's Kundalini Fried Chapati.
