We've just got time for a last Singaround before the New Year!

Monday, 30th December from 8.30pm at the Bull PH, Barton-le-Clay, Bedfordshire, UK. All acoustic instruments & voices very welcome.

We're hoping to have the Ashwell Mummers along to perform their play & amaze the natives who have been sorely missing out on traditions!

Come if you can - if not, the next one is on Monday 13th January 2003.

Wishing you all positive thoughts for 2003.

Thanks Sireen xx. Now southerners listen up. If you have mobiles, I suggest you bring them to your session. We of course, will bring our Motorola transportables with the back-pack battery kit and whip arials. Use my number - 07740 958783 to launch the interactive digital simulcast. If there are more than two of you, pass on to me your numbers so that all of us up here can hear what southern music is like. If you eventually decide to do a tune (rather than witter on about how much your houses have gone up over Christmas) we'll all listen. And then retaliate. We might have to lambast you in a new thread, so please deliver quality. We will endeavour to do the same until the batteries run out.   

We kick off at 9ish. This could be a remarkable moment.

Remarkable Moments Happen!

Hearing the tunes we know so well being played in a real-time scrolling scenario by our fellow twin-sessioners was wonderful. We sang along when we knew the words & lala-ed the rest...

We were unfortunate in that the pub walls were too thick / we were in a valley / the pub phone is barred from mobile numbers. But we coped surprisingly well with the aid of a couple of loo rolls, some wire, several pints of good ale, an umbrella, a Christmas present and some sticky-back plastic. We reverted to plan 9 in the car park.

Our small chorus (complete with harmonies) aquitted itself well (we thought) against all odds. Next time we will do better!

There are voices behind these keys, and (we assume) faces too! Our pubs have been brought together & squeezed through telephone lines in ways previously unconsidered. All good fun :-)

NHS cock-ups forced me to discharge myself!! Am being very careful though as I'm out without permission, doctors letter or medicines. Will try to sort robotic stuff tomorrow but am hoping to go to Straw Bear this weekend while you guys sort the Workshop on Saturday.

Ashwell Mummers back on the boil, sounds excellent Ian! May not get to Barton myself on Monday, depends on my back situation really. I'll put a new Barton thread up before I go following the Bear. See you in the Fish & Chip shop anyway!
