Try "zemerl" for Jewish music. I forget if it's ".com" or ".org," but it should be easy to find.

Sadidlady,

I recommend Theodore Bikel's fine book. He's done a lot of good research and can actually speak most of the languages in which he sings.

The Weavers have some songs that are accessible and pretty such as Suli (?) Ram from Indonesia. Check their songbook.

Bottsford as well as Seigmeister have songbooks that are international.

In my experience, the very best way to learn international songs is to find someone from that culture and have them teach it to you. Many people from other lands would be honored to share their culture with you.

Frank
