Hope you come back and find this here..It's a old favorite of mine...rosebrook

SONG OF THE SOUL
(Cris Williamson)

Open mine eyes that I may see
Glimpses of truth thou hast for me
Open mine eyes, illumine me
Spirit divine

"Love of my life!" I am crying
I am not dying, I am dancing
Dancing along in the madness
There is no sadness, only a song of the soul

CHORUS
And we'll sing this song, why don't you sing along?
And we can sing for a long, long time (repeat entire chorus)

What do you do for your living?
Are you forgiving, giving shelter?
Follow your heart, love will find you
Truth will unbind you, sing out a song of the soul....

Come to your life like a warrior
Nothing will bore you, you can be happy
Let a light in, it will heal you
And you can feel you, sing out a song of the soul....

Rosebrook,
thank you so much for posting these lyrics. I am not the original questor for this song, but it was a favorite from my childhood, and I could not remember the artist. anyway, it means a lot to me to have that song back in my life.

Cyra - that is one reason we tend to post lyrics in the threads, even when they are requested to be e-mailed. Since they ARE in the forum they are available to the next person searching for them.

Cris Williamson - Sister lyrics

SISTER
(Cris Williamson)

Born of the earth, Child of God…just one among the family.
And you can count on me to share the load, and I will always help you
hold your burdens and I will be the one to help you ease your pain.

CHORUS
Lean on me I am your sister; believe on me, I am your friend.
Lean on me I am your sister; believe on me, I am your friend.
Lean on me I am your sister; believe on me, I am your friend.

I will fold you in my arms like a white wing dove…
Shine in your soul, your spirit is crying…spirit is crying.

Born of the earth, Child of God…just one among the family.
And you can count on me to share the load,
and I will always help you hold your burdens and I will be the one to help
you ease your pain.

Lean on me I am your sister; believe on me, I am your friend.
Lean on me I am your sister; believe on me, I am your friend.
Lean on me I am your sister; believe on me, I am your friend.

I'm wondering if this is the same Cris Williamson who was on the Meg Christian album called I Know You Know. I have it on vinyl, I played it to death when I was much, much younger but I haven't played it since then. Beautiful music.

I'm sure it's the same Cris Williamson, Helen. They did a lot of work together at one time - back in the 1980s, if I recall correctly.
