Subject: Lyr/Tune Add: HOW COULD LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD From: GUEST,MCP Date: 08 Jan 03 - 11:29 AM This was requested in Halloween Girl. I've put 2 versions of the tune up - I found a version I'd started jotting down some years ago, which is the 1st one, but I'm sure I sang the last few lines of the verse slightly differently, so I've put that in as the 2nd version. I haven't got the recording any longer, so I haven't been able to check this (and I haven't sung it for years either). I've included basic chords for it too. Mick HOW COULD LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD (AP Randolph) Intro: When we were young, but old enough for us to understand We all believed in fairies, and the folks in fairy land. But the modern child is runnin' wild, he wants to know too much He's never understood about Red Riding Hood. Verses: Say, how could Little Red Riding Hood have been so very good And still keep the wolf from the door? Father and mother she had none. So where in the world did the money come from Please let me ask it who filled her basket The story books never tell Now they say that she found a great big wolf in Granny's bed And he had a great big sun bon-net pulled down over his head But you know and I know what she must have found instead. How could Little Red Riding Hood have been so very good And still keep the wolf from the door? How could Little Red Riding Hood have been so very good And still keep the wolf from the door? Why was she dressed up in her bright flaming red Unless she intended to knock someone dead Why did she ramble she knew it was a gamble She was out in the woods for no good. They say she was a maid most discreet And there's no doubt about it she must have been sweet But you know and I know that even sweet girls must eat So how could Little Red Riding Hood have been so very good And still keep the wolf from the door? How could Little Red Riding Hood have been so very good And still keep the wolf from the door? I've heard of many strange things in New York But whoever heard of a wolf that could talk? I hate to doubt it, but there's something about it That sounds funny to me (2nd voice:What do you say about it?) Say, you know I don't believe any one of those fairy tales are true (2v: You don't?) No, I don't believe 'em, Do you believe 'em? (2v:I believe all fairy tales) Then I'd like to ask you Who was the father of all the little children of the woman that lived in the shoe (2v:Jack the Giant Killer) How could Little Red Riding Hood have been so very good W:And still keep the wolf from the door?
