Subject: My grandmother's first CD From: boglion Date: 08 Jan 03 - 07:04 PM I've just received two copies of a brand new double CD from a friend in County Kerry. My granmother is featured on the recording as are many people I know well. Unfortunately - or is it ? - the inlay details were not printed in time to be sent off with the CDs - they will follow later. The track titles are printed on the disks but no other details. This means I have had to listen to every track with extra concentration trying to work out who the artist is. This has been excellent fun. We're virtually certain that one specific track is my grandmother - we think she can also be heard laughing in the intro. She left this earth almost exactly 27 years ago to play her concertina in Heaven. She would have loved the idea of recording a whole village's musical heritage and would have been delighted to have been included. The title of the album is "Ancestral Well" which just about covers it. It's a real gem. |

If not, I hope you will post more details as you learn them when the other stuff gets printed. What a great treat to hear your grandma again! Thanks for sharing with us and welcome to the Mudcat. kat |
