We usually reckon to get there from about 9pm onwards and play and sing from about half past.

Hi Roz. Maggie and I aren't doing that session at the moment, so we may be looking to start another one, or to find another way out of this 'impasse'.

Guy - great news if you can get over here - don't worry about the above - there's still plenty of opportunities to play over here. If you can schedule in the the first Sunday in a month, you can come to Deanmeister's excellent Sun Session (the one that was in Nellie's when you were here before).

I'm not sure starting up new sessions is the answer. The key would be to sustain those that are already established. Folk and traditional music isn't an elitist form of music - it is music created by, and for those in communities. The minute someone publically declares themselves to be superior to others (musically speaking), the spirit and enjoyment of the music simply disappears. Sorry, but that's how I see it.....

when one person in a session... goes out of their way to make someone feel unwelcome walking away or talking when the person is singing or playing, staring at them with a face like thunder...sending nasty letters and generally staging a take over bid to run things their own way...

I would really like this session to continue... I have said so several times here and elsewhere.... but the whole point is that we ENJOY ouselves and that is difficult in such an atmosphere and when we are watching a friend being treated this way... this session has moved before... for different reasons... it's the same session as it was in the Lockwood... or the Engineers maybe it's time to move again....Sorry, but that's how I see it

So do I smallpiper but Les and especially Maggie have been on the receiving end what can only be called a hate campaign for a year or so... they'e tried to carry on but what used to be the highlight of their week has turned into something they dread... they have understandably decided to avoid confrontation. So it's up to those of us who enjoyed this session the way it was to make our feelings known and reclaim the session. Unfortunately it may be too late... Geoff the landlord says with only 4 or 5 turning up... and some only drinking WATER!!!it's sometimes not worth his while putting the fire on!! ... Geoff used to keep the room for us but the boys of the pidgeon club turn up regularly... drink lots of beer...put money in the till and talk very loud...
