Subject: Tech: BLOCKED! From: MMario Date: 10 Jan 03 - 08:22 PM My ISP uses N2H2 for a content filter - and we are currently blocked from the forum - so I won't be around as much. e-mail me if you need something please, or pm - at the moment I can still get to PM's - and can occasionally get to threads if I have them traced. |
Subject: RE: Tech: BLOCKED! From: Bill D Date: 10 Jan 03 - 09:32 PM ???...can't this be manually UN-blocked? Do you know why it is blocked? |
Subject: RE: Tech: BLOCKED! From: Jeri Date: 10 Jan 03 - 09:40 PM What Bill asked. What is it about the main threads page your firewall won't allow? The script maybe? Could you use "Messages since last visit?" You'll have to reset if you haven't used it before because it will be too big. Jeff designed a link for people to reset without loading the page. Here: http://www.mudcat.org/newmessages_reset.cfm |
Subject: RE: Tech: BLOCKED! From: Amos Date: 10 Jan 03 - 10:45 PM This is totally unsat, MM!!! Let's have a word with these assholes!! A |
Subject: RE: Tech: BLOCKED! From: MMario Date: 11 Jan 03 - 08:20 AM The theory is that they have blocked it because it is an uncensored message board. |
Subject: RE: Tech: BLOCKED! From: Mr Red Date: 11 Jan 03 - 08:36 AM uncensored? a bit contentious that MMario. **BG** |
Subject: RE: Tech: BLOCKED! From: Jeri Date: 11 Jan 03 - 11:02 AM MMario, I'd talk to your censorship geeks. N2H2 doesn't have Mudcat listed, so it seems your local folks may have added it to their list of Evil Influences. I wouldn't think they'd have any way of telling it's an uncensored message board without actually reading it. |
Subject: RE: Tech: BLOCKED! From: Clinton Hammond Date: 11 Jan 03 - 11:05 AM Why would anyone sign up to an ISP who blocks content??? I'll pick and chose what content I wanna visit myself thank you very much... |
Subject: RE: Tech: BLOCKED! From: nutty Date: 11 Jan 03 - 12:09 PM Hope you get it sorted soon MMario ....... we need you |
Subject: RE: Tech: BLOCKED! From: Amos Date: 11 Jan 03 - 12:12 PM MM: Seems to me a "censor"software package would have to have a user-identifiable list of allowed sites and exceptions or it would be useless! Can you talk to the sys admin about it? A |
Subject: RE: Tech: BLOCKED! From: GUEST Date: 11 Jan 03 - 08:01 PM This is MMario's work ISP that he's talking about. If they'd prefer to pay him to do something constuctive than while away his days here, I think that they're justified... |
Subject: RE: Tech: BLOCKED! From: Banjer Date: 11 Jan 03 - 08:10 PM It's GUEST from perfect world!!! |
Subject: RE: Tech: BLOCKED! From: Bert Date: 11 Jan 03 - 08:18 PM You're lucky. When I tried to use AT&T they even blocked me from my own email. So I didn't pay them. They are still after me for the money even though a year has passed. |
Subject: RE: Tech: BLOCKED! From: Clinton Hammond Date: 11 Jan 03 - 08:25 PM Ahhh... A WORK ISP, eh... I see... Ya... Gods forbid you actually have to WORK when you're at work... |
Subject: RE: Tech: BLOCKED! From: Stilly River Sage Date: 11 Jan 03 - 09:23 PM Aw, Guest, give it a break! You're here all over the place. This is what we call the pot calling the kettle black. |
Subject: RE: Tech: BLOCKED! From: Bill D Date: 12 Jan 03 - 12:07 AM pay no attention to that man (I use the term loosely) behind the curtain.... |
