Subject: Tech: Single Microphone Recommendation? From: GUEST,Terry Date: 11 Jan 03 - 01:24 PM I always get my musical questions answered from this erudite group. What are your recommendations for a good, moderately priced microphone to use onstage as a single, "crowd around" mic? Thanks in advance for any help. |

Subject: RE: Tech: Single Microphone Recommendation? From: Richard Bridge Date: 11 Jan 03 - 04:10 PM Reasonably priced, go AKG and hunt round for discounts. You should get about 50% off list. If you want to go a bit dearer and have phantom power, try AudioTechnica 89HR, and you could get them in omni, cardiod and hypercardiod according to taste. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Single Microphone Recommendation? From: Murray MacLeod Date: 11 Jan 03 - 05:18 PM It just so happens I do know the answer to this question, or at any rate I can tell you how to find the answer. Still on the Hill are a wondrously talented duo from Arkansas who decided to go the single mike route some time ago. Everything goes through one mike, guitar, fiddle two voices, and they sound GREAT. If you contact Kelly or Donna at www.stillonthehill.com, they will be only too pleased to give you advice. Whatever they use is the one I would buy if I were going that route. Murray |
