Subject: RE: BS: Comments to George Bush (phone number) From: Bobert Date: 15 Jan 03 - 12:53 PM After seeing the Junior's little temper tantrum on the news last night, I don't think it will do any good trying to communictae with him. He's totally zoned! I think he is *so insanely arrogant* that the more folks tell him not to attack Iraq the more he gonna want to do it. That's how spoiled rich frat boys are... Maybe you could find a phone number for Laura Bush, Alice. She may be the only one in the world that can get to him. Collin Powell is stuck between a rock and a hard place. All he has been able to accomplish is throwing a few more things on Junior's War Checklist. I do, however, encourage everyone to find the closest Peace Demonstration this Saturday, Jan. 18th and be there! It's supposed to snow in Washington, D.C. Friday so I've got my old Dodge 4 wheel drive truck gased up and ready to go. And I know I shouldn't have such a pessimistic view on Bush being receptive but, hey, he's a madman. Really. Stark raving mad. If I had young children anymore I would not have let them see the President of the United States do his little "gang mentality" rant last night. Peace Bobert |
Subject: RE: BS: Comments to George Bush (phone number) From: Naemanson Date: 15 Jan 03 - 04:08 PM You want cynical? My reaction, when I saw this thread, was, "Why bother? He doesn't care unless you are rich, white and rich, in that order." |
Subject: RE: BS: Comments to George Bush (phone number) From: GUEST,sorefingers Date: 15 Jan 03 - 05:51 PM Why do I think that US intelligence is too busy to notice what is really going on ..... |
Subject: RE: BS: Comments to George Bush (phone number) From: JennyO Date: 15 Jan 03 - 11:36 PM You could say that the words "US" and "intelligence" are a contradiction in terms. I'm surprised GUEST hasn't found this thread! Guess he's having too much fun on the Tyranny thread! |

Subject: RE: BS: Comments to George Bush (phone number) From: Ferrara Date: 16 Feb 03 - 02:13 PM Well, hadn't seen this thread but I looked up the White House phone number in the blue pages (government listings) this week. (Not the first time I've called but I lost the number....) I couldn't get through, in 2 days of calling. Someone is trying hard to reach them but as we know, it ain't easy. The most effective thing I know of, is to work with MoveOn . They are a very competent and intelligent bunch of folks and I believe they have had an impact. Slowed things down at least.... One thing they do is send bulletins with encouraging news from time to time! -- I love 'em for that. These people didn't fall into the trap of circulating e-mail petitions that double-and-triple-count the people at the top of the list. If you want to sign one of their petitions, you have to go to their web site and provide your e-mail address. This gives their petitions credibility. They have been working hard on a sane anti-war approach, too much stuff and I'm too lazy to enumerate. Check it out if interested. I don't know whether anything in the world can slow down "the Shrub" now that this bee in his bonnet. But I believe that working with Move On is a good thing to try. Rita |
