Subject: RE: Lyr Req: one day I will From: Jim Dixon Date: 12 Feb 03 - 10:11 AM There may be more than one song with this title -- or maybe more than one version. One was recorded by The Cooke Duet, a gospel group. It is on "The Best of the Cooke Duet" and is attributed to "Adams". One was recorded by Walt Mills, who is also a gospel singer. It is on "The Walt Mills Collection" and is attributed to "Mills/Stallings". One was recorded by Peter Spink. It appears on the various artists' anthology "Public Domain". AMG classifies this album as "folk". Supposedly all the songs on this album are "traditional". This information comes from AMG/All Music Guide. |
Subject: Lyr Add: ONE DAY I WILL (from J Warner, J Davis) From: GUEST,GUEST, B. Date: 06 Jun 03 - 10:44 PM ONE DAY I WILL, recorded by Jeff Warner and Jeff Davis on "Wilder Joy," c. 1987. I never have seen the face of my Savior But serving him has been such a thrill I never have seen the gates to the city But one day, one day I will. CHO: One day I'm gonna walk on the streets of pure gold And they tell me the half has never yet been told I'll be united with my loved ones on Zion's holy hill One day, one day I will. Since the day I first met him he has been all to me And my life with his joy he has filled And I'm longing for the day when my eyes shall behold him But one day, one day I will. Record notes read: From the singing of the late Estil C. Ball and his wife Orna of Grassy Creek, NC, attributed to Mills and Stallings. |
