Somehow it seems just wrong to put the BS prefix before any thread involving Sandy Paton! We sure are glad the stork dropped you, Sandy, lo those few, short years ago! You have enriched our lives & we are so glad to know you! Wishing you health & happiness always & sweet years with your precious wife.

with love,

Barbara

Sandy, as you realize I'm sure, Joe Offer hates these birthday threads, although he will probably post to yours! Joe thinks they are too repititious and all the posts say the same thing. Over the past year I have tried to appease Joe and make him see that not all the postings are the same. I do this by telling the Birthdayee to do something obscene.

Now I'm counting on the rest of the group here to say things to you that are beyond "Happy Birthday" and the like so that I am not forced to come back here to appease Joe and tell you Happy Birthday and Kiss My Ass.

BTW, what's an old fart like you doing with a pretty young wife like Caroline? (:<))

Karen sends her best to you too!!!

Catspaw,

I reckon Sandy must have something special on the ball, don't you? Mebbe there's just a tad of jealousy creeping through there?? Huh?? Huh??

Sandy, thanks for everything, and well done on another trip 'round our favorite star!! Guess you must be getting near the top of the hill by now, huh??

Sandy, it is wonderful to have you around to remind me how old I am not. Please don't check out any time soon, cause I don't want to feel like an old fart............check that..............make it an old folkie fart.

My love to you and Caroline.

Sandy, you are an inspiration to us all. Thank you for everything you've given to us over the years. You are one of the people that I most respect in the world of folk music. Your dedication and hard work has been felt by us all. Most of all, thank you for being such a wonderful human being. The world is truly a better place with you around!

Happy Birthday!!

Jeeze Sandy. If you could get yourself to the NORTHLAKE TAVERN, still under the Aurora bridge, they might give you a free birthday pitcher, just like the days of yore! And, the BLUE MOON TAVERN still upholds the tradition. Come to think of it, I think I'll head off there tonight and see if I can collect ... in your name, of course! CHEERS, Bob(deckman)Nelson!

A huge HAPPY 73rd BIRTHDAY !!!!! (hope my calculations are correct!)

Love to you all,

Art

Now come on people....You're falling off here and the thread is getting too repetitious. Let's not require me to take drastic action which would only prove Joe Offer right!!! I mean fergawdsakes, the last time Joe was right about something Eisenhower was in office..........Get on the stick now and let's hear some better (read: different) greetings for the Pholk Phogey!!!!!!!!

Sandy ... as I promised, I went down to the Northlake tavern, which is still under the Aurora Bridge and I enjoyed your FREE birthday pitcher. Then I figured, what the heck, so I went on up to 45th and walked into the Blue Moon TAVERN. I claimed that I was indeed Sandy Paton, and it was MY birthday, and I demanded my free pitcher! Well, let me tell you what happened! The bartender says: "Hmmm, Sandy Paton, you say. Let me check in the back room. I'll be back in a moment." He came back in three minutes, with four of the biggest brutes I've ever seen. He then presented me with a bill, old and tattered, but your signature was readable, for $411.17. It was dated 1953. He claimed that he is the fourth owner since then, and YOUR BILL was part of the assets he purchased. So, what could I do but pay the bill! I mean, Jeeze, really, we must keep up one's honor around town. Anyway, if you'd like to call me and we can discuss a payment plan for $ 411.17, I'd be delighted. Just don't call collect. CHEERS and MERRY BIRTHDAY Bob Nelson (hee hee)

By the way, after I gave him the $411.17, he asked me if I knew where the heck he could find Walt Robertson! I gave him Don Firth's phone number! Bob

My thanks to all for the kind thoughts. It's 74, actually, but at my age a single year doesn't rattle the gate. I'm at the point where old farts only notice SDBs (Significant Digit Birthdays). If I make it around once more, we can go through all this at a more significant point.
I knew I shared the birthdate with Lord Byron, but who the heck are all those others listed on Scopes Systems?
Now you know, Deckman, why I left Seattle in such great haste, lo, those many years ago. If Caroline and I do manage to make it out there in May, the trip that is currently being planned, I'll write you a check for the $411.17. Just be aware that it'll stretch all the way back to the University District.
Catspaw, m'lad, I must say that I admire Joe for maintaining his dignified silence.
To all of you good people, my thanks.

    Sandy

What's age got to do with it? There's still a little-bad-boy romping around inside you, and a rebellious teenager, and a handsome man-about-town whooping it up- what? And anyway, from my pinnacle, 74 is YOUNG! Happy Birthday- Love and joy and blessings,   Jean
